Water Safety Instructor (WSI) - Woodbridge and Markham Locations
The Red Cross Water Safety Instructor course (WSI) prepares students in the field of swim instruction. Candidates focus on strategies to introduce and develop fitness activities, water safety, and swimming skills in the Red Cross Preschool and Red Cross Swim Kids curriculum. Candidates will learn to recognize, demonstrate, and teach the Red Cross Preschool levels 1-8 as well as the Swim Kids levels 1-10. Candidates will be required to complete 20 hours of teaching experience (scheduled outside of in-class hours). They must also complete the WSI-Online program (14-20 hours) to be eligible for certification.
100% attendance is mandatory.
Prerequisite:15 years old, Bronze Cross, and ability to perform Red Cross Swim Kids level 10 strokes and skills.
