Swim Patrol Program – Preparing Future Lifesavers in Toronto & the GTA

The Swim Patrol Program at Felix’s Swim Schools is the perfect next step for advanced swimmers who want to build their leadership skills, water safety knowledge, and lifesaving techniques. This program is designed for swimmers who are ready to go beyond learn-to-swim levels and start preparing for lifesaving courses such as the Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross.

Swim Patrol consists of three progressive levels—Rookie, Ranger, and Star—that help swimmers refine their technique, endurance, and rescue skills.

Why Choose the Swim Patrol Program?

Bridges the Gap Between Learn-to-Swim & Lifesaving – Prepares swimmers for advanced lifesaving courses.
Develops Water Rescue Skills – Introduces rescue techniques and survival strategies.
Enhances Stroke Efficiency & Endurance – Improves speed, endurance, and overall swimming ability.
Builds Leadership & Water Safety Knowledge – Helps swimmers become role models in aquatic settings.

This program is ideal for swimmers who want to continue their development beyond traditional Learn-to-Swim lessons.

Swim Patrol Levels

Rookie Patrol

Rookie Patrol is the first level of the program and introduces basic water rescue techniques, stroke development, and fitness training. Swimmers will:

  • Improve their front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke.
  • Learn self-rescue techniques and water survival skills.
  • Build endurance with a 100m timed swim.

This level provides a strong foundation for those working toward Bronze Star.

Ranger Patrol

Ranger Patrol focuses on more advanced rescue techniques, swimming endurance, and leadership training. Swimmers will:

  • Develop better stroke efficiency and endurance.
  • Learn how to perform non-contact rescues.
  • Complete a 200m endurance swim.

This level is a great preparation step for Bronze Medallion.

Star Patrol

Star Patrol is the most challenging level, focusing on lifesaving skills, advanced fitness training, and in-water rescue techniques. Swimmers will:

  • Learn first aid and water rescue skills.
  • Improve endurance with a 300m swim.
  • Develop leadership qualities that prepare them for lifeguard training.

This level fully prepares swimmers for Bronze Cross and Lifeguarding Courses.

Graduates of the Swim Patrol Program can continue training for professional aquatic certifications, including:
